  • Louis999 : We will see the strongest short squeezeeee soon...:)

  • 安安稳稳过日子 : lol! Some ppl really don’t want to see NIO fly

  • 151872513 OP 安安稳稳过日子 : Yeah hahah, they managed to short NIO more than Lucid. Gold 😂😂😂😂

  • 102704853 : what does Largest Shorted Stock means? and what does it translate into? the price will rocket after awhile?

  • 105322040 : I notice that in normal trading hours market the short seems difficult to pull Nio down. And they now go to overnight, pre market n Singapore market where the volume is really small to do the deploy their plan to curate a slow gradual down trend and create fears among small retailers which usually is very successful. But this round whenever the normal trading market resume, it is slowly gaining support back. But I guess it is only the steady minds of retailer with big whales plus company performance could stand off such highly manipulated and attacks.

  • 151872513 OP 102704853 : Shorting means expecting a stock to fall. In order to achieve this they will need to borrow stocks and sell them now for the current price and buyback and return the stocks later when the stock falls lower. Hence the profit.

  • 151872513 OP : However, shorting comes with significant risks. Normally when you buy stocks you can't lose more than what you invested. However, the opposit is true for short selling, the upside is capped at what you invested and the downside can be much more.

The short squeeze that you often hear about related to shorting is when the stock price rises instead of falling, the short sellers are forced to buy back and return the stocks due to a margin call. Hence further drive up the stock prices. When you have multiple hedge funds rushing to buy back the stock and accepting their losses driving up each others prices is another type of short squeeze.

  • 74216494 105322040 : SHORTs can do this only with weak stocks. NIO is one of them. Having no serious buyers, because of terrible management. And now there is "tax loss selling" in the USA. Sell the losers, like NIO.

  • 102704853 151872513 OP : thanks for explaining!
