Nio to hold Nio IN 2024 tech day event on Jul 27 in Shanghai

Nio announced that it will hold its Nio IN 2024 Innovation Day event on Jul 27 in Shanghai, where it is headquartered.

The company will then share practices and thoughts on artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart electric vehicles (EVs) and formally launch SkyOS, Nio's new vehicle operating system, according to a brief statement from the company.

Nio didn't say much more, except that details will be announced at the event.

The EV maker held its first Nio IN event on September 21, 2023, showcasing its research and development and ;aunching the first Nio Phone.

Nio unveiled SkyOS at last year's Nio IN 2023, which it said at the time was China's first smart EV operating system.

SkyOS is Nio's full domain operating system, which builds a "1+4+N" technology cluster covering vehicle control, intelligent driving, cockpit, mobile connectivity and many other areas, it said at the time.

Full-featured SkyOS will be available on Nio's next-generation NT 3.0-based platform, the company said last year.

Nio is also expected to launch the second-generation Nio Phone in Nio IN 2024, a device that received China Compulsory Certificate (CCC) certification on Jul 17, paving the way for rollout.
