I always jokingly tell my friends that the only way to make a stock go red is to buy it.
Well, this whole episode reminded me of my surfing lesson. You need to learn how to spot the swell early enough to get ready to ride the waves. If you get up too late, you will just get caught in the waves and get “washing machined”, which in my case, I got tumbled dry.
I remember turning to my surf coach and asking him how did he manage to look so effortless when he surfed. His response was “Ma’am I have done this every day since I was 10”.
So, I guess it’s a learning lesson here. Timing the entry and exit is both a science and art. It will take practice and making mistakes to learn. 🌊
Fun Fact:
Do you know that in the Chinese stock market (except HK) when a stock is going up, the board will show it as red and green when it's going down?

Lately, right after I sell? There’s often a brief (and inexplicably large) spike in value, followed by a few more bumps… pretty sure the market is flippin’ me off.
