if voted yes to give Elon the big bonus, it will dilute the stock's value; if voted no, it will be bigger disaster since Elon may leave.

TeslaSmurf : Not exactly: those stocks are already there, as included in the CEO compensation package. Besides, they are not free: Elon would have to pay Tesla about 7,5 Billions to exercise them. ALSO, it won’t happen immediately since he’s forbidden to sell them before 5 years (with the exception of those needed for tax obligations). I see no issue… for now.

ZnWC TeslaSmurf: I agree. Tesla board has refuted the claim that Elon Musk's 2018 compensation package would "dilute" the stock. EM also explained in X:
"The deal allows me to sell enough stock to pay the taxes. The remaining stock must be held for 5 years, so it is impossible for me to cash out and run."
