NVIDIA recognized early on the value of software in driving GPU adoption. In a fireside talk at SIGGRAPH last week, Yen-Hun Huang emphasized this point.
In early 2022, a few months before OpenAI's ChatGPT sparked AI gold rush, NVIDIA CFO Collete Kress detailed a blueprint for the GPU giant's subscription drive, which she believes will ultimately drive $1 trillion in revenue. At the time, Crees predicted that $150 billion of these opportunities would be driven by NVIDIA's AI Enterprise software suite. Even with $26 billion in quarterly revenue now, the business is still far from reaching its trillion-dollar goal, but we're starting to get a clearer understanding of how it's growing.
