After Uber acquired Postmates in 2020, the division was spun off into an independent company, Serve Robotics, which completed a reverse merger with Shell company Patricia in August 2023, raising $0.3 million. As the market's leading “delivery robot,” it has completed hundreds of thousands of deliveries for corporate partners such as Uber Eats and 7-Eleven. Uber owns nearly 14% of the company's shares and is also its largest customer. For the company's future development, it plans to expand from 100 robots currently deployed in Los Angeles to 2,000 robots by 2025, which also includes Los Angeles, San Diego and Vancouver, Canada. SERV said this marked an increase of approximately $850,000 in revenue generated primarily from software service contracts signed with Magna, and a 124% sequential increase in delivery and brand promotion revenue.
