NVIDIA announces expanded collaboration with BYD and other Chinese automotive companies
NVIDIA announced on Monday that it will expand cooperative relationships with Chinese automakers, such as BYD, which competes to build autonomous vehicles and infotainment technology enhanced with AI in order to compete in the global market.
NVIDIA has stated that BYD will use NVIDIA's next-generation in-vehicle chip “Drive Thor” to improve autonomous driving and other digital functions.
BYD also plans to use NVIDIA technology to rationalize factories and supply chains and develop virtual showrooms, Danny Shapiro, who is NVIDIA's vice president in charge of automobile business, stated in a conference call.
“The Drive Thor will be installed in the BYD (car) next year,” he said.

Also, NVIDIA stated that Lenovo, a Chinese computer manufacturer, is also cooperating with NVIDIA to introduce a large-scale language model.
