Nvidia's CEO stated that under Trump, global cooperation and collaboration will continue: report.
According to reports in some media outlets, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA), stated on Saturday that even if the upcoming Trump administration decides to impose stricter export controls on advanced computing products, global cooperation and collaboration will continue.
Donald Trump, the incoming President, imposed many restrictions on the sale of US technology products to China during his first term concerning national security issues, and much of this policy has continued under President Joe Biden.
"Open science in global collaboration, the collaboration of mathematics and science has existed for a very long time. It is the foundation of social and scientific progress," Huang was quoted as telling the Hong Kong Reuters media.
According to reports, he stated that global cooperation "will continue." Regardless of what happens in the new administration, we will continue to balance compliance with laws and policies, advance in technology and support, and provide services to customers worldwide.
It has been reported that early in the day, Huang in a speech after receiving an honorary engineering degree, said to scholars and graduates at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) that "the era of AI has begun."
"The era of AI has begun. A new computing era that will impact all industries and all scientific fields," Huang was quoted as saying. It is reported that 25 years after Nvidia announced the graphics processing unit, they stated that they "reinvented computing, triggering a new industrial revolution."
He is reported to have said, "AI is indeed the most important technology of our time, and potentially of all time."
According to Reuters, he expressed to the graduates that he hopes their careers are starting now. "The whole world has been reset," he said. "You are at the starting line with everyone else. The industry has been reinvented. You now have the equipment needed to advance science in many different fields.
On the other hand, it has been reported that Huang told Bloomberg that Nvidia is working as quickly as possible to validate Samsung's AI memory chip.
Beside the HKUST event, he was cited as stating that his company is evaluating Samsung's 8-high and 12-high HBM3E chips.
