There is no problem with leaving it alone without worrying too much. The rival is a monopolistic company that has no equivalent in the world. From abacus to calculator, from calculator to computer, from analog phone to mobile phone, from mobile phone to smartphone, and now it is evolving into AI. This trend cannot be stopped by anyone. And nvidia is dominating that AI, just like intel's era lasted for a while.
