$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ so two things number one yesterday prior...
number one yesterday prior to the release this was midday or so there was a report that an analyst at a major brokerage firm raised the earnings estimates and revenue estimates on Nvidia to the highest of anybody on the street.
and I made a comment and you can go back and see it that they're up to their bullshit games again somebody just toppled everybody else over raising the bar for NVIDIA.
the irony right now I cannot find the name of the analyst or the brokerage firm that did it it was mentioned yesterday on Twitter it was mentioned yesterday on Bloomberg and on CNBC in passing in conversation when they were discussing Nvidia but I don't see the actual report.
so this last race which now is a phantom Ghost is what created the problem of an apparent shortfall of a whisper number of margins from Nvidia.
the second is in a nutshell the summation from the conference call where you can see the ultimate concern of shakiness between a little bit of erosion of margins and they're comment about the whisper number. that is below.
"Other than missing the “whisper” numbers, some investors may be looking at Nvidia’s gross margin, which slipped a bit in the quarter to 75.1% from 78.4% in the prior period. That’s up from 43.5% two years ago and 70.1% in the fiscal second quarter of last year.
For the full year, the company said it expects its gross margin to be in the “mid-70% range.” Analysts were expecting full-year margin of 76.4%, according to StreetAccount."

10baggerbamm OP : so maybe you guys can help me I just did multiple searches and I'm shooting blanks the name of the firm and the analyst should be readily available because I heard it through multiple services yesterday not the name of the person or the service just that there was a company that increased estimates to the highest level yesterday of anybody else on the street.
The only name that I can come up with but I can't find the date that he increased and I know it's early it's only that's what 1:17 in the morning East Coast time. and this is Stacy rasgon and he's highly regarded he was on the conference call and he directed a question about the profit margins for the fourth quarter and he was very low relative to what Nvidia saying that their margins were going to be he had said they were going to be around 72% and the CFO who was on the call said that we don't comment specifically on 4th quarter we give a range but we are much higher and in the report they said they're going to be north of 75% in that range so I'd like to know if somebody can dig up who that analyst was and maybe it was Stacey rasgon yesterday that raised it but this is the bullshit games that are played in the 11th hour where somebody wants to be the hero to derail a train and say yep I knew it and they raise revenue and margins to the highest level in earnings the highest level that basically strip away the upside surprise once the earnings actually come out.
