$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ In early March of this year, I started in...

In early March of this year, I started investing in stocks. The first stock I ever bought was NVIDIA at $787 for just one share. At that time, I should have invested all my available funds in NVIDIA, but as a novice investor, I gambled almost all my savings on pharmaceutical emerging stocks and AI small-cap stocks. Sadly, just like the cherry blossoms, I spectacularly failed and lost everything (laughs). I panicked and switched to TSMC, but due to TSMC's financial shock on April 19, I cut my losses on NVIDIA and TSMC (laughs). Then, despite miraculously recovering with the surge in cannabis stocks on April 30, I still managed to lose it all again by trying my luck with various small-cap stocks, Super Micro, and companies like Celsius, almost all of which were at rock-bottom prices. Eventually, in a fit of rage, I gambled with penny stocks, poured all my hard-earned savings of 1.4 million, and at one point, I was down to below 0.5 million, feeling a deep sense of self-loathing. I vowed to never give up, to learn thoroughly, and to survive! That was in August. With a daily profit target of $50 and 20 business days in a month aiming for $1,000, I repeat to myself every day, "Don't be greedy, endure, wait, wait", and somehow managed to hang in there, steadily recovering while learning from the seniors' posts on the forum, finally returning to over 1 million out of my 1.4 million investment. Going back to the basics, I am bullish but have bought NVIDIA at a reasonable price (and also TSMC). If things continue like this, I might be able to turn things around and make a profit by March next year before the full year.
If I break even properly in March, when I think about it, it's quite a bargain for the lessons learned. I've gained so much experience for free, even seen hell. And in one year of practical study, I've learned the know-how of building assets for a rich retirement that will last a lifetime (still a long way to go).
I am truly grateful to NVIDIA, which is my starting point. I am also grateful to the warm-hearted seniors on this bulletin board. It is thanks to all of you that I was able to persevere without giving up. I will never give up in the future!
Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

  • Jamaica no problem : Marvin1986-san, it is considered fortunate that your first purchased stocks were NVIDIA. Dabbling in various stocks and switching between them may be a symbol of youth. If you currently have stocks, there is no need to worry. You are commendable for being able to cut losses. Let's overcome the rough waves together 🌊💪

  • ハービー : If you look at the flow of semiconductors in the world.

  • Marvin1986 OP Jamaica no problem : Thank you for your comment, Jamaica no problem-sama! It is very reassuring. Encountering NVIDIA, entering the world of stock investment, for me, it was a significant milestone in life, transitioning from a life with poverty to a rich life, it was a really good 2024 Start. You mentioned me as a 'symbol of youth', but actually I am in my mid-50s (laughs). The nostalgic greetings and exchanges with ONON-san and Mugimaru-san that you share with Jamaica-san, are right in line with the era (laughs), I always look forward to reading them. Please let me join in soon too.

  • Marvin1986 OP ハービー : Thank you for your comment, Mr. Harbie. It is very encouraging. I have once again recognized that N is the safest and most growth-oriented asset, and have returned to the original intention by abandoning infidelity. Thank you for your continued support in the future!

  • Jamaica no problem Marvin1986 OP : Thank you for your reply 😊 Your agility was amazing, so I misunderstood your age 🙇‍♂️ ONON-san's talk is interesting, so let's definitely enjoy it together! Well then, please have a great year ahead 🎍

  • Marvin1986 OP Jamaica no problem : Thank you very much! Yes, absolutely! Looking forward to tonight's market movements. Have a great New Year!

  • 株の慶次 : When I was a child, I learned to endure being hit by my parents...

  • おむすびちゃん : It seemed like someone was listening to my story, lol.[undefined]Even though I've been investing for just over a year, the amount of funds I have is quite large, but when I consider it in terms of my total assets, it feels like I've put in too much.[undefined]The first US stock I bought was N. I remember that at the time, it soared due to good financial results and I was delighted when it was around $600. Before that, a Japanese semiconductor stock had been growing exponentially, increasing by +1 million in less than 2 months since the beginning of last year.[undefined]Not taking profit at this point is greedy behavior. Even if it starts to decline again, I tell myself it's just a deeper pullback! And hold onto it... When I couldn't bear it anymore, it had dropped by 0.8 million.[undefined]At this point, the greedy behavior of trying to recover from -0.8 million thinking it's only +0.2 million turned into a loss of -2 million by the fall. While I tried not to talk about investments to my wife, I realized it wasn't suitable for me and was considering exiting. That's when I received advice from someone, saying with assets -25%? 75% left, you won't die, but you need to invest more appropriately and effectively. Always being fully invested is a sure way to fail, so you should have more cash and narrow down the stock selection. If you touch a little of everything, you won't be able to grasp or manage it. Stock picking is not bad, it's just excess trading that's bad, so be careful with that, and start over from there.

  • Marvin1986 OP 株の慶次 : Thank you for the comment, Mr. Keiji. I'm also a serious Showa generation, so I'm tough (laughs). I will endure and aim for explosive profits with perseverance.

  • Marvin1986 OP おむすびちゃん : Thank you very much, Omusubi-chan, for sharing such a passionate story. It is encouraging and I have learned a lot. Thank you for the post. It seems like we both went through hell in our first year, but if it's a road we must eventually go through, it's better to do it sooner. Of course, I genuinely respect those who can become excellent investors without such experiences, as that is a talent in itself!
I want to make 2025 a prosperous year by utilizing this experience.
    Let's share our experiences.
Thank you for your continued support!
