$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ You guys don't know that even though nvidia has close to 90% of gpu market share, and Intel has exactly 0, most of the processors in all the data centres/super computing centres are still Intel. Not nvidia, not AMD, but Intel. Most of the sales done by these manufacturers do not come from personal use, such as you getting a new laptop or a workstation. The money comes from data centres. We won't get rid of Intel cpus, because the human society basically is built on them, as almost all the existing programs run on Intel, including time tracking, banking, weather etc. Intel is reliable - optimised in parallel with Intel compilers and messaging passing interface. If nvidia and AMD was so much better than Intel, Intel would have been dropped for good. People are not stupid. There is a reason why Intel still exists and won't go away.

ISTJ : Nvidia is focused on AI data centers not just any data centers. On the training side, Nvidia has almost 100% market share, on the inference side, AMD has some market share but not as much as Nvidia. Intel has 0% in AI data center business.
151654992 OP ISTJ : That's correct, but AI is a very small portion of what super computing centres do. A lot of the tasks that can be performed on Intel cpus can't be performed on nvidia gpus. And these tasks can't be skipped.
随心 : Intel is old and not well-regarded. But without Intel, the world would stand still. Without NVIDIA, it wouldn't matter, at most there would be no gaming to play.

151654992 OP FinancialFree8888 : That's because Intel has already grown for a long time to the current size. You can't have unlimited growth, same thing nvidia will have to deal with eventually. And just because growth has slowed, doesn't mean no sales done. They still get sold.
