NVIDIA Q2’FY2025 Earnings

$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ has been the darling of the tech world, consistently smashing expectations. But this time around, the company stumbled a bit, and investors weren't thrilled. Despite meeting or beating analysts’ estimates, Nvidia’s latest forecast didn’t quite live up to the sky-high expectations that have been set, especially after its explosive growth in recent years.
NVIDIA Q2’FY2025 Earnings
The good news: Their Data Center segment raked in $26.3 billion, fueled by strong demand for their Hopper GPUs and networking platforms. This performance exceeded expectations, yet it wasn’t all smooth sailing. And, they also announced a massive $50 billion stock buyback, adding to its already impressive fiscal year.
The bad news: Production fear with Nvidia's next-gen Blackwell chips. These chips were supposed to be the next big thing in AI processing, but Nvidia admitted they’ve run into some issues with manufacturing. CEO Jensen Huang tried to reassure everyone by saying they’re working on ironing out the problems and that supply should ramp up by Q4.
He also highlighted a broader industry shift from general-purpose computing to accelerated computing—a space where Nvidia is leading the charge. This shift is crucial as AI and data processing demands continue to grow. Nvidia’s accelerated computing platforms are designed to handle these increasing demands, offering faster performance and lower costs, which are attractive to companies looking to upgrade their data centers.
Generative AI is another area where Nvidia sees massive growth potential. From AI-powered applications in cloud services to robotics, the demand for Nvidia’s technology is expanding across various industries. Their AI Enterprise platform is gaining traction, and they expect it to contribute significantly to their software revenue, which they project will hit a $2 billion annual run rate by the end of the year.
But here's the question: Do you think Nvidia's stock has more room to grow after this buyback, or is the market starting to cool off on the AI hype? Let’s hear your thoughts!

  • Maniac Fool : Yes it does have room. Its improved Mask will improve yield in the short and then long term for the production of the Blackwell chips.

  • 102461859 : nvida is gonna b fine till 2025, beyond that no one knows, its cyclical business after all, unless they r able to build up an ecosystem of ai services / platforms that can stay resilient regardless of macro influence, that remains to be seen.
