NVIDIA Receives Good News!

The supply chain order information for NVIDIA's Blackwell GB200 chip indicates that Microsoft is currently the world's largest customer for the GB200. In the fourth quarter of this year, Microsoft's orders have surged 3 to 4 times, with the volume surpassing the combined total of all other cloud service providers.
The production capacity expansion for the Blackwell chips is expected to begin at the start of the fourth quarter of 2024, with an estimated shipment volume between 150,000 and 200,000 units. It is forecasted that shipments in the first quarter of 2025 will see a significant increase of 200% to 250%, reaching 500,000 to 550,000 units. This suggests that NVIDIA could achieve its sales target of one million units within just a few quarters.
Currently, Microsoft is the most active buyer of the Blackwell GB200. The volume of Blackwell GB200 orders from Microsoft far exceeds that of other cloud service providers, and it is reported that the company is rapidly expanding its AI computing power. Microsoft plans to prioritize the deployment of the Blackwell GB200 in low-temperature data centers (such as in Washington State, USA, Quebec City, Canada, and Helsinki, Finland) to proactively mitigate potential issues arising from insufficient time for optimizing cooling systems.
Orders from other cloud service providers include Amazon's 300 to 400 rack GB200 NVL36 orders in the fourth quarter of 2024, and Meta's focus on the Ariel architecture rather than Bianca, with both having significantly lower order volumes compared to Microsoft.
