NVIDIA supports capital raising for British autonomous driving companies - led by SoftBank G
Major rice chip company $NVIDIA(NVDA.US$ will invest in Wave Technologies, a British autonomous driving technology startup, and participate in the company's 1.05 billion dollar funding round.
$SoftBank Group(9984.JP$ It is led by and is an existing investor in Wave $Microsoft(MSFT.US$ will invest more money. The company has not disclosed the latest valuation.
The current capital investment emphasizes investors' continued demand for artificial intelligence, and is supporting the autonomous vehicle industry. The industry has experienced setbacks over the past few years in convincing regulators about the safety of driverless cars.
Alex Kendall (Alex Kendall), CEO of Wave, said in an interview at its headquarters in London that the company has received investment interest from multiple car companies, but has decided not to give up on the option of cooperating with one manufacturer in the future. Furthermore, he added that discussions are continuing with automobile manufacturers in order to install this technology in automobiles.
