Advanced Micro Devices stock is trading higher after the company confirmed that a recent cyberattack did not compromise critical business data. AMD worked with law enforcement and a third-party hosting partner to assess the hack and does not expect it to materially affect operations. This news provided some relief following a selloff on Wednesday.
Additionally, AMD supplier $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US$ is exploring new advanced chip packaging methods to meet the high demand for AI computing power, which is positive news for AMD. TSMC's 3nm process is nearly fully booked by companies like $Apple(AAPL.US$, Nvidia, and AMD through 2026.
In other news, AMD announced that Sun Singapore Systems is deploying an AI-based smart parking solution using AMD's Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC devices. This system improves license plate recognition and introduces features like parking spot detection, lane jam detection, accident detection, and violation enforcement.
