Microsoft is already the largest investor in OpenAI, with a stake of approximately $13 billion.
Apple is also connected to OpenAI. The iPhone manufacturer is integrating ChatGPT into its new AI feature suite called Apple Intelligence.
Apple and Microsoft had also intended to have observer seats on the OpenAI board, but they were forced to give up the plan in July due to increased AI anti-monopoly regulation by the U.S. government.
