Overnight external trading: U.S. stocks closed higher, the Nasdaq rose more than 1%, and Tesla's stock price soared more than 10%
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ $Qualcomm (QCOM.US)$ $Meta Platforms (META.US)$ $Amazon (AMZN.US)$ Large technology stocks generally rose, with Tesla rising more than 10%. Morgan Stanley on Monday raised Tesla's rating from "hold" to "overweight" and raised its 12-18-month target price by 60% to 400. US dollar, the highest target price on Wall Street, and replaced Ferrari as the bank's "top choice." Qualcomm rose nearly 4%, Amazon and Meta rose more than 3%, and Intel and Microsoft rose more than 1%. The automobile manufacturing, metal and mining sectors were among the top gainers, with Workhorse rising by more than 7%, Century Aluminum rising by more than 5%, Rio Tinto rising by more than 3%, Vale, BHP Billiton and Southern Copper rising by more than 2%. The oil and gas and defense aviation sectors fell, with Virgin Galactic falling more than 10%, Raytheon Technologies falling more than 7%, Marathon Oil falling more than 4%, and Occidental Petroleum and Chevron falling more than 2%.
