The founder of Padini is Yang Binjun, whose entrepreneurial story is filled with hard work and perseverance. When he was young, Yang Binjun graduated from high school and went to work at a textile company in Singapore, where he learned a lot about fabrics and clothing business. In 1971, armed with the experience he accumulated in Singapore, he returned to Malaysia to establish the Huayang Apparel Manufacturing Company, starting with 0.08 million ringgit, focusing on producing women's clothing and fabrics, primarily selling to the Malaysian and Singaporean markets.
In the early days of his entrepreneurship, Yang Binjun faced many challenges, especially due to insufficient funds. However, his reputation was excellent, winning the trust of suppliers and banks, receiving support, and overcoming the difficulties. In the 1980s, he began launching clothing under the brand "Padini," gradually expanding the market. Later, he acquired other companies, expanding the scope of business, such as introducing children's clothing brand "MIKIHOUSE." Even during an economic downturn, this decision led him to success.
By 1990, the company was officially renamed "Padini" and restructured its brand, developing into a comprehensive fashion group. Today, Padini's business covers multiple areas including men's and women's clothing, children's wear, shoes, bags, accessories, and is very famous in Malaysia, even penetrating the international market.
Yang Baojun's secret to success lies in his keen sense of fashion trends and the ability to quickly grasp consumer needs. He is not only a visionary entrepreneur but also a founder who values family. His wife and children are also involved in the company's management, working together to grow Padini.
From a small apparel processing factory, Padini has gradually become a well-known fashion brand in Malaysia. It was listed on the Malaysian second board in 1995, and later moved to the main board for trading in 2005. As of November 2024, Padini's stock price is around 3.43 ringgit per share. The company's market cap is approximately 2.26 billion ringgit. In recent years, Padini has consistently distributed dividends to shareholders, demonstrating its strong financial performance.
