typically insider sell every quarter. so better wait is like saying you're just afraid to step up to the plate and swing in a ball that's being thrown at you. insider cell for a variety of reasons I hope you understand that. the bulk of an insider's net worth is stock.. is stock options. they may be building a house for 50 million dollars you don't know they may be building a yacht for 100 million to be larger than penske's yacht. they may have several kids that they're setting up their future in trusts with several million dollars for their future. they may be getting divorced and have to pay off that old bat that they married.. they may want to diversify a little bit and just hedge and buy some treasuries just in case of the inevitable happens. there's a million reasons why people sell.. you cannot hold off a purchase until insiders are done selling and the reason is you don't know when they're done because it's every quarter/year they're granted options. most insider cells do not coincide with peaks and valleys in stock price even though they have all the inside information statistically and I encourage you to look this up it does not correlate to the top of the stock price or the bottom. you have to look beyond The daily fluctuations in a stock price and look towards the future of where you believe the company is going to be in 6 months 1 year 3 years 5 years it's just like a business plan but rather than the company's business plan it's your business plan for investing. if the company has a history of executing well meaning they're beating the street they're guiding higher their product deliveries are on time their margins are growing (that means they have price control) then taking advantage of opportunities and weaknesses the smart thing to do.
