Paper-trading Recap: How I get 129% increase in just one week

In the last paper trading session, I achieved rank 5 in the US competition. More details about myself and my trading story are as follows.
Inspired by the market rally during mid 2020 and driven by the interest, I began my trading journey on July 2020 after graduating from the top finance school in China. At first, I only invested stocks and mutual funds in China and Hong Kong market.
Things were getting change when I came to Australia, there are numerous finance instruments you can use to construct your portfolio, e.g. options, CFDs, futures, you name it. And the most important thing is your portfolio is not restricted in one market, I began to diversified by trading in different market (US, AU, HK) to avoid the home bias and learnt to use options, CFDs to trade volatility.
My strategy
Let me bring the topic back to the paper-trading session. Actually, I’m an investor rather than a trader and I use buy-and-hold strategy. It was only a week left when I saw the notice of paper-trading session. Therefore, I change my strategy to use leverage and trade volatility. I invested in options which underlying stock would release earnings on the next day. In the other words, I was betting on the earning result.
Top earning portfolios
TSLA call option, NVDA call option, AMD call option.
Fortunately, I bet the movement correctly three times and reached top 1 once. But at the last day, I bought INTC call option and the price plunged to 0.01$. But anyway I’m happy to the final result.
My favorite stock
Tesla is my favorite stock because most of the investors treat it as a EV manufacturer company. But Tesla also has advantages in AI Robotics, Robotax. Tesla is the only mega tech stock which miss the tech rally. I believe it is undervalued.
