Paper trading wrap up :Playing the loser 's game
Day 6 did nothing. Last day, I sold my thailand etf at a slight loss since the price isn't going to change in the last day of competition and switch over to a defensive stock $Berkshire Hathaway-B (BRK.B.US)$ which I always wanted to own.
Investing is a loser's game. Although it takes skill, but there are always better players out there with skills better than you, institutional players in particular have access to more information than you. Thus, the way to play the game is to avoid mistake by doing diversification and control your greed and fear emotions.
That's why buffett says "the first rule is don't lose money" and not win as much money as possible.
This must be the best ranking I attained from participating in paper trading competition s. There is an element of luck in it. For instance, just after I bought Occidental, iran started striking back which I could not forseen
