Party’s on? Or off?
Will the tone from Jerome Powell set the tone for the stock market from now till year end?
At the moment, the inflation number is getting close to Fed’s 2% target. So if we do not have negative surprise from CPI number on Tuesday, Powell should not sound too hawkish. I mean, he will likely still provide his usual cautious statements, but probably won’t be aggressively hawkish.
From there, it’s really up to how the market interpret what he says.
This week could be key to determine whether we have a Santa rally this year
