PBOC: CN Online Payment Deals Top RMB7.7T since LNY's Eve, Up 10.1% YoY

The number of industry-wide network payment transactions processed by NetsUnion Clearing Corporation and China UnionPay continued to grow, according to data from the PBOC.

From Lunar New Year (LNY)'s Eve to the fifth day of the LNY, a total of 15.38 billion transactions were processed, amounting to RMB7.74 trillion, representing year-on-year increment of 15.8% and 10.1% respectively.

Among these transactions, dining, accommodation, travel, retail and movie entertainment were particularly favored, with year-on-year growth of more than 20%.
