Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that as part of the ceasefire agreement, Israeli troops will continue to be stationed along the border between Gaza and Egypt.

Prime Minister Netanyahu's demand for retention of the Philadelphia Corridor is a major obstacle in the ceasefire negotiations with Hamas. As part of an agreement to release dozens of prisoners in Gaza, Hamas is demanding a full withdrawal of the Israeli military from Gaza.

The defiant Israeli leader stated that if Israel agreed to even a temporary withdrawal, the international community would never allow Israel's return. "This will determine our entire future," the Prime Minister said at a press conference. "This is Hamas's oxygen."
