Pundits predict recession is coming based on the US LEI downtrend signal.
LEI is good leading indicator for US manufacturing, but manufacturing comprises about only 11% of US GDP, whereas ~70% of is about services.
Wrong perspective, wrong diagnosis, wrong prediction.
