Quick Take on Meta Bright Group Berhad’s Financial Results (Q1 FY2025)
Meta Bright Group Berhad delivered exceptional results in Q1 FY2025, recording RM58.7 million in revenue, a 463% year-on-year increase. This surge was driven by the building materials segment, which contributed RM47.9 million following a strategic acquisition. Profit before tax rose dramatically to RM7.3 million, up 1,398% from the previous year, while profit after tax reached RM5.0 million. Improved margins reflect strong cost management and diversified revenue streams.
The building materials business was the largest revenue contributor and a key profit driver. The leasing and financing segment also performed well, generating RM2.5 million in revenue, boosted by higher rentals in Australia and unrealised foreign exchange gains. The hospitality segment recorded RM6.7 million in revenue, supported by increased room sales and convention centre bookings. The energy-related division doubled its revenue to RM0.45 million, benefiting from completed projects.
These are the results of the successful acquisition and transition plans from the company.
Property development revenue declined to RM0.13 million due to fewer project completions, but profits were supported by contributions from the Bandar Tasek Raja project. The investment properties segment delivered RM1.04 million in revenue, driven by rental income from shops in Jengka, Pahang.
Total assets increased to RM514.2 million, supported by growth in trade receivables. Equity rose by RM6.8 million quarter-on-quarter, while liabilities remained stable at RM222.6 million. Operating cash flows improved significantly, turning positive at RM5.5 million, reflecting better working capital management.
MBRIGHT’s diversification across key segments, particularly the building materials business, underscores its resilience and growth potential. With a strong start to FY2025, the group is well-positioned to deliver continued profitability and value for shareholders.
