Reminder of Biden's cease-fire plan

The White House confirmed that the Gaza cease-fire negotiations have officially resumed in Doha and are likely to continue until Friday.

US President Joe Biden proposed a three-part cease-fire plan on 5/31. The proposal was the basis for UN Security Council resolution 2735, passed on June 10, and 14 countries voted in favor, no opposition, and only Russia abstained.

The first step in the agreement is a temporary cease-fire, during which Hamas will release women, elderly people, and wounded prisoners of war and exchange them with Palestinians imprisoned in Israeli jails.

The second phase includes a permanent end to hostilities and the release of all remaining Israeli prisoners.

The third step is rebuilding Gaza.
