Moderna drug candidate selected for FDA rare disease pilot program

Moderna's mRNA-3705 is a drug candidate for rare genetic disorders of the liver and has been selected for the Food and Drug Administration's pilot program to address rare diseases.

Moderna said on Thursday that mRNA-3705 was selected by the FDA Center for Biological Evaluation and Research to accelerate development under the agency's Rare Disease Treatment Promotion Clinical Trial Support (START) program as one of four investigational agents to artificially promote as a treatment under development for methylmalonic acidemia derived from methylmalonic-CoA mutase.
