you look at all of the SMR stocks you take a step back and look at the revenues that they have right now and you look at the valuations that they traded to that is a bubble. plain and simple that is exactly what happened in 1999 with.com stocks if you look what is happening now with all of the quantum stocks look at the revenues look at the valuation multiple that they have just catapulted to that is a bubble.
it is not to say that these companies 5 to 10 years down the road will not turn into 800 lb gorillas because they might and that's because the future is ahead of them however the valuations also are ahead of them at this point.
the market is irrational and it can stay overbought for an extended period and oversold for an extended period.
if one goes back a number of years nano had its day in the sun any company involved with nano Technologies was afforded $1,000 to 2,000% returns the stocks went parabolic and then they all crashed
the story repeats every couple of years you have a new fad a new potential technology that's going to revolutionize revolutionize and change the world. anytime it does but they all crash first and all you have to do is look what happened to Amazon in 1999 where was it and where did it fall to and many of the companies when they fell they shut their doors they were done because they couldn't raise additional money.
this is why I say and I speak from experience firsthand if you are fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time and you catch one of these parabolic moves take your principal out and either leave all your profits in or leave 50% of your profits in.
forget about the company let the management do their thing and see what happens in 5 years in 10 years.
small cap companies routinely Miss earnings because one or two contracts that get pushed forward a quarter can destroy the current quarter and what Wall Street the one or two analysts were expecting and the stocks crater.
this is why you need time on your side and this is why if you're playing with The house's chips you do not have to sweat the oscillations in the stock price short term.
KyleyW : qubt is more of a joke, less than 50 employees and less than 0.5m of revenue
10baggerbamm OP KyleyW : they Rise together they're going to fall together that's what's going to happen with a very high degree of certainty.
employees can be added I think you would agree to that statement you can hire people you can recruit them from universities people in computer science department engineering departments very easily that's how I grew my business I would Target graduates in the finance field graduates in marketing and I would put them into an internship and then they would automatically have a career upon completion of graduation. so the number of employees to me is not a deal breaker.
what I'm looking at is parabolic moves where the revenues have not caught up.
10baggerbamm OP KyleyW : pt 2
and I've heard every story under the Sun oh they're doing a deal with Microsoft yeah that's great they're doing a deal with Nvidia, is an investor yeah that's great. if you go under their website many of them publish their long-term business plan they publish their revenue projections especially small cap companies microcap companies they try to give this target where they're able to accelerate as the industry grows by capturing a very small percent they're going to have an enormous year over year growth rate.
and what you see right now is the value of these companies is literally five years down the road as if they've already executed their business plan the market cap has accelerated to a rate that rewards them now for something they have not achieved yet into the future.
and again I'm not saying they're going to crash today tomorrow but at some point they will consolidate just look at SMR companies they're down 50%, they're about from their highs and they're consolidating.
if we have a market event where we get a August sell off like we did that Monday every one of these companies will crater because they will lack the liquidity on the downside everyone will be running for the door and the market makers are not going to sit there and bid the stocks they'll just walk away from the bid because the market is in collapse mode sell-off mode. and that's where you can go back in and pick what you believe to be the winners for the next leg up which could be 6 months it could be a year before the news starts to compound again and build up where retail investors return to the stocks.
