Wedbush analyst Dan Ives believes autonomous driving and the FSD vision are key factors in Tesla's valuation of more than $1 trillion.
Tesla allocated 9.4 GWh of storage energy in the second quarter, setting an all-time high, driving Tesla energy storage deployments to 13.5 GWh in the first half of this year, close to 14.724 GWh deployments for the whole of last year. Tesla's energy storage business consists mainly of two types of products, Powerwall and Megapack. The business is seen as Tesla's key card and Morgan Stanley's next round of AI investments. According to Adam Jonas of Morgan Stanley, the huge power demand for AI data centers will make Tesla a major player in the U.S. energy market. He expects Tesla Energy's revenue in FY 2024 to exceed $7 billion, and by 2025, the profit margin may exceed Tesla's auto business.
