S&P 500 closes little changed

The $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ closed near the flatline Tuesday, with Wall Street largely waiting on rate policy guidance from the Federal Reserve.
The benchmark ticked down 0.06% to close at 4,924.97. The Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.76% to finish Tuesday trading at 15,509.90, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 133.86 points, or 0.35%, to 38,467.31.
