Sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment are forecast to increase 15% in fiscal year 24 - to over 5 trillion yen in fiscal year 26

The Japan Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Association (SEAJ) announced on the 4th that sales volume of Japanese-made semiconductor manufacturing equipment in 2024 will increase 15% from fiscal year 23 to 4,252.2 billion yen. It was revised upward from the forecast as of January (4,34.8 billion yen).
According to published materials, memory investment is expected to recover in fiscal year 24 from the latter half of the fiscal year. It was taken into account that the performance of each memory company had recovered to the bottom of the 2023/1/3 fiscal year, and that demand for image processing devices (GPUs) and broadband memory (HBM) for artificial intelligence (AI) servers was increasing.
