Sam Altman Raises Funds for AI Chipmaker Rain AI to Challenge NVIDIA
According to The New York Post, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is actively raising $150 million for Rain AI, a startup aiming to challenge NVIDIA's dominance in the AI chip market. Rain AI claims its chips are more efficient and offer superior performance compared to $NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$’s.
Meanwhile, NVIDIA is strengthening its collaboration with Elon Musk, sparking speculation that while NVIDIA will continue selling chips to OpenAI, Altman might be uneasy about the closer ties between NVIDIA and Musk.

101649510 : I think this is not affecting a lot as of now because even if he successfully got the funding, it takes years to get it running. if it's so easy to set up a company and design a better chips. AMD, Intel and other players would have already done it
