$Scholastic Corp (SCHL.US)$ sank more than 10% Thursday after hours after the children's book publisher missed analyst expectations for fiscal Q4 revenues and adjusted earnings.
SCHL dropped 10.2% to $32.83 shortly before 4:30 p.m. ET after the firm reported earning $1.73 per share in the three months ended May 31. That fell short of the $2.66 in EPS that analysts' consensus estimates reportedly called for, and also represented a 23.5% drop from the $2.26 EPS the firm saw in the same quarter a year ago.
Meanwhile, Scholastic said revenues sank 10.1% year over year to $474.9 million during the latest period, down from $528.3 million in the same period a year earlier. The latest numbers also missed the $552.5 million consensus that analysts had forecast.
