Sell and wait ahead of earnings and uncertainty in US economy

I am of the opinion to sell off shares and take profit prior to Q2 earnings results since S&P is at an all-time high. With the uncertainty in US economy and election, I believe a wait and see strategy should be adopted. Recent earnings results of Nvidia, Tesla, Google, BankofAmerica, GM and others have negative reactions even though the earnings results ain't all bad.
