September? Good or bad at the end ? (from MarketDevil, Europe)

$NVIDIA (NVDA.US)$ Why does the month of September have such a bad reputation? Serious events happened in the past in September. Consider the September 11 attacks in 2001 and the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers in 2008. The fact that summer is coming to an end will undoubtedly play a role in the increasing gloom among investors. However, the first week of September brought new gloom. August may traditionally be less favorable to investors, but September is historically the worst month of the year. For example, the Dow Jones has lost an average of 1.3 percent in this month over the past 50 years. Over the past four years, the S&P 500 has fallen 3.9, 4.8, 9.3 and 4.9 percent in September, respectively. The other ten months of the year were profitable on average.
Exceptions excepted
Is this increasing gloom a reason for investors to sell their shares? No. To start with, the above returns are no more than averages. Not every year follows that average. For example, the S&P 500 suffered an average loss in the month of September, but in only 55 percent of all years there was a loss. There were plenty of exceptions to the rule.
September often represented a continuation of an existing trend. In the years in which the stock market was at a loss at the end of August, September also turned out to be loss-making. The mood was already gloomy and the least cheerful month of the year made it even worse. However, in years in which the stock market was in profit at the end of August, September was considerably less bad. In years in which the stock market had a profit of at least 15 percent, September also turned out to be positive. This year the S&P 500 has a gain of more than 18 percent.
But there is more going on. For example, a first interest rate cut by the Fed is expected on September 18. The reaction of the markets will partly depend on the extent of the reduction and the accompanying explanation. This week, however, it is the ECB's , Europe ,turn first.
Conclusion from me? Mr. Market goes its own way but I suppose the " End of Septembre" shall be good. Have faith in Markets up and downs. Believe me, globally in the World, i see not at all a recession ONLY numbers are open to interpretation. Statistics are never saving grace
