Seriously wonder why got to use the term “Recall”? This term is to request for car owners to go back to service center and workshop to replace.. for modern EV cars, most of these so call issues reported are addressed with a software update OTA…. Guess these analyst just want to affect the market price… try to downgrade others so that they can buy in

digitigrade : "recall" is universally understood as a free repair under warranty, regardless of what actually needs to be fixed or the method of repair.
OceansWave OP digitigrade : I understand the context where you are coming from.. but this is like an issue which just requires a software patch?
Recall is typically tied to a repair which will involve with replacement of parts, that will end state will be heavy cost to the manufacturer… but software patch it’s pretty different
digitigrade : you're probably right about it being a thing they could just fix with an OTA patch, but the automaker would still need to register the fix as a recall in the big list of recalls (i.e. a free repair anyone is entitled to upon receiving a used car).
What interests me is why it's reportedly only a problem arising in a tiny amount of cars in china only. If it's a software issue, i think it would affect more than just 8k cars in just china, perhaps.
