Breaking News
Singapore and US Launch New AI Talent Bridge Programme for Women
Singapore and the United States have launched a new AI Talent Bridge programme aimed at providing tech and AI opportunities for women. The programme expands on the Women in Tech Partnership initiative that was rolled out in 2022, seeking to strengthen collaboration between the two countries on emerging technology such as AI while emphasizing support for youth, women, and future leaders in tech. The two countries will continue to cooperate to advance AI with inclusive and forward-looking agendas to boost economic growth and AI competitiveness. Both Singapore and the US recognize the challenges that come with the rapid, global proliferation of AI and have developed frameworks to address them, such as the AI Risk Management Framework by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology and AI Verify by the Singapore Infocomm Media Development Authority.
Demand for HDB Resale Flats Expected to Remain Steady, According to Analysts
Analysts predict that demand for HDB resale flats will remain steady in the coming months, as more homebuyers turn to the secondary market. A higher transaction volume of HDB resale flats has supported price growth in May, with 2,513 flats resold, the highest number in four months. The demand for resale flats is expected to remain stable, with ex-owners of private homes set to return to the secondary market after serving out the 15-month wait-out period. The HDB resale market is also attracting those with more pressing housing needs, as well as home seekers who want a more central location and are not subject to the tighter conditions of Plus and Prime flats. Resale prices have increased for eight months in a row, up by 6% YoY in May.
