Sharing my long-term ETF story

After exploring ETFs and using Moomoo’s trading tools, I’ve come up with ways to manage the ever-changing market landscape. My approach focuses on spreading investments across various sectors and regions, reducing risk, and tapping into global growth opportunities.

For example, I hold positions in broad-market ETFs like $SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY.US)$ and sector-specific funds that offer long-term value. During market downturns, I accumulate more shares at lower prices, strengthening my portfolio for the future.

Another strategy I employ is dollar-cost averaging (DCA), where I invest a fixed amount in ETFs at regular intervals, regardless of market conditions. This helps mitigate the impact of volatility and reduces the risk of poor decisions driven by short-term market movements.
Trades and Triumphs

My ETF trading journey has been a mix of gains and lessons from losses. A good example is my disciplined approach to SPY, where I've avoided chasing short-term trends. Currently, my SPY position shows a positive profit of +6.27%, reflecting my commitment to long-term investing and the rewards of staying the course during market volatility.

Investment Lessons

Trading leveraged/inverse ETFs requires a deep understanding and strategic planning due to their complexity and risks. My approach begins with fundamental analysis to identify strong-performing indices or sectors, followed by technical analysis to time entries during dips or consolidations.

I always keep an eye on long-term horizons over immediate gains, ensuring that my investments align with my overall financial goals.
