Shell and Keppel-Backed Venture to Install Solar Panels for Pan-United

- Pan-United, a ready-mix concrete provider, is partnering with Cleantech Solar, backed by Shell Singapore and Keppel, to install around 900 solar panels on its operational headquarters in Kaki Bukit, Singapore, and its slag grinding plant in Johor, Malaysia.

- Cleantech Solar, a Singapore-headquartered renewable energy development company, is set to complete the installation by Q1 2024.

- This initiative is part of a three-year memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in 2022 with Shell to explore decarbonization solutions in the construction and urban solutions industries.

- Pan-United aims to integrate renewable energy into its operations, contributing to its sustainability goal of becoming a carbon-neutral ready-mix concrete company by 2050.

- The ongoing MOU between Pan-United and Shell includes exploring opportunities in electric mobility solutions, circular use of materials, and fleet management digitalization.

- Shell is exploring solutions with Pan-United to electrify its trucking fleet and studying the potential of repurposing industrial materials for the production of low-carbon concrete at Pan-United’s facilities.
