Shopee invests in a new logistics center in South Carolina
Shopee is quietly expanding its business in Blumenau and the region. This global e-commerce giant has rented a new warehouse in the city. This space will operate as a logistics center and is actually a commodity distribution center.
For strategic reasons, the exact location of this new building remains confidential, but as discovered by NSC Total, it is located in the Itoupavazinha community, close to BR-470. This space is even larger than the warehouse currently occupied by the company in the city.
When contacting, Shopee confirmed that they are changing the operation of the existing logistics center in Blumenau. The company stated in a report sent to the National Security Council that "changing space is to make sellers more flexible when collecting orders and to provide services to more consumers.".
In addition to this unit, the company also has five other hubs in the state of Santa Catalina, located in Shapeko, Krisiuma, Itajay, Joinwali, and San Jose. In the southern region alone, there are 19 hubs and one distribution center that adopts a cross docking model (one model). Eliminated inventory demand in the Curitiba (PR) metropolitan area.
There are over 100 hubs and 9 distribution centers throughout Brazil dedicated to meeting orders from Brazilian sellers.
