$SIA(C6L.SG)$ : While Private Equity Firms Own 45% of Singapore Airlines Limited (SGX:C6L), Retail Investors Are Its Largest Shareholders With 48% Ownership.
Probably because Retail Investors are the largest Shareholders with 48% that doesn't seem to arouse Institutional interest anymore. 🤔
Personally, I felt that Singapore Airlines staff had worked extra hard for such good results. It's good results after good results and analysts continuously saying below expectations. It's unjustifiable and SIA price is just far too low.

  • 再世孔明 : I don’t think retail investors own 48%.
    It’s like 20%+ nia.
And that would explain why retail can’t move it.
    So am I right?

  • 明 Meng OP 再世孔明 : I got the news from
While Private Equity Firms Own 45% of Singapore Airlines Limited (SGX:C6L), Retail Investors Are Its Largest Shareholders With 48% Ownership.
If retail investors only owns 20%, I think the Institutional Investors will eventually step in. But at the mean time, they would set high expectations that is beyond reach so as to keep the price low for them to come in later.

  • 再世孔明 明 Meng OP : I posted the same link on moomoo news.
    Moomoo replied my post.
But I do not know what’s the point of looking at what VC/PE firms holding.
I thought we need to look at the total amount of shares in the market and the % distributed amongst the shareholders.
By looking at just LL PPP VC/PE firms percentage, it seems like it’s creating a false picture to retail investors that they can dominate the market trend.
Which in fact 75% are controlled by those institutions.

  • 明 Meng OP 再世孔明 : Hahaha...that's what I thought, too. There is no point looking at VC / PE. So it does not mean retail investors own 48%, retailers can dominate the market. Just collect dividends and say thank you to SIA, that's all. Just believe what the CEO always said, "Travel demand is very robust in the coming years ahead". And take analysts comments as pleasure reading.

  • 102058650 wan wan : Temasek Holdings hold 44.55%

  • 102635473 : A lot of the banks you see are nominees (aka relevant intermediaries), and hold on behalf of someone (could be retail investor). For example, the shares you own on this platform are shown in the books of the company as owned by moomoo.

  • 明 Meng OP 102058650 wan wan : Yes, now I learned that some of the articles can be quite misleading, I used to believe what I read, I better judge myself. How can retail investors own 48% ? I am to be blamed for not verifying in the first place. Thanks for your correction. 👍

  • 再世孔明 102635473 : Ya probably. Philips securities I suppose for retail investors.
The rest of the top10 shareholders don’t seem to be holding for retail.
If retail bought shares via these banks, indirectly banks are controlling, not retail.
Thus, I suppose this is y SIA price Is somewhat peculiar…
Not sure what’s the rational of emphasising retail own 48%,which in fact not. Sabo would-be retail?
    Just for discussion amongst ourselves.

  • 明 Meng OP 102635473 : I am shocked to learn that what is own by individuals here are shown in the book as someone else. I wonder officially who is the actual owner now. Just curious only, that's all. I just want to stay focused on my trading.
