Silo AI is now officially part of AMD [Tweakers Netherlands]
$Advanced Micro Devices (AMD.US)$ The chipmaker confirms that the acquisition of the Finnish start-up has now been completed. AMD announced last month that it wanted to acquire Silo, the largest private AI lab in Europe.
AMD reports in a press release that Silo AI has been acquired by the American chipmaker this week. $665 million was paid for this. The company will be part of the Artificial Intelligence Group business, led by AMD senior vice president Vamsi Boppana. Boppana said in a statement that AI "is the most important strategic priority" for AMD and that Silo AI's expertise should help AI deliver AI techniques on its platforms. AMD wrote darpt last month.
