Two Nasa astronauts who flew to the International Space Station in June aboard Boeing's faulty Starliner capsule will need to return to Earth on a SpaceX vehicle early in 2025, Nasa said on Aug 24, deeming issues with Starliner's propulsion system too risky to carry its first crew home.

The comparison between the rival programs of Boeing and SpaceX is nonetheless embarrassing for the older and much larger firm. Musk's company was widely seen as an outsider in 2014 and received $2.6 billion for the project, compared to Boeing's $4.2 billion. Yet for the past four years it has been the sole means for astronauts to travel to and from the ISS. SpaceX had one advantage from the start: its Dragon vessel has been resupplying the ISS since 2012.

4) My Take:

• Boeing's Starliner six days mission become 6-months. Nasa admitted (indirectly) that this second US option for sending astronaut crews to and from Earth's orbit has failed.

• SpaceX is owned by Elon Musk who is also the CEO of Tesla. The articles above has explained clearly the strength of SpaceX company's culture over Boeing in terms of productivity and problem solving.

• As SpaceX and Tesla are sharing technology and has similar company's strategic approach, it is logical to imply Tesla is a company with a strong fundamentals and well-established ecosystem. Tesla haters (or someone) who claimed that Tesla is a meme stock is not true.
