Speculative sentiment towards the dollar has turned bearish since February. The US financial authorities are expected to begin an easing cycle in September.
According to the position report for the week ending on the 27th, released by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on the 30th, speculative positions have shifted from buying dollars to selling. The amount of money invested in betting on a dollar decline reached approximately $9.8 billion (around 1.4 trillion yen), the largest since January.
