Microsoft and Meta both announced good earnings reports, but their stock prices fell.
The earnings reports for Microsoft and Meta for the July-September 2024 period exceeded market financial estimates, with increases in revenue and profits. However, in after-hours trading on the US stock market on the earnings announcement day, the stock prices of both companies declined. Concerns are growing about whether the businesses of these two companies can grow enough to offset the investment, amidst increased demand for artificial intelligence and increased capital expenditures.
