If you are holding long shares but don’t like the risk of it being delisted = dead money for I don’t know how long, buying put is the good hedge as always, you can exercise the put before it expires which mean you can dump your positions at the strike price of put you bought.
A Risky Ride
:
OOoops… What will happen to the shares bought few weeks ago, I bought them for $29 per share :(. If the company is delisted, what fate I’m looking at?

Thanks for the reply.. However I do not hold shares, just own buy put option. Mean I must buy say 15c sell at my strike price, so is like net net position?

Google pink sheets, unless the company is bankrupted, the shares still got some value and traded but just not anything like in a mobile platform though. Unless you got some faith on company and believe it will be back on the list someday, this happened once to SMCI few years ago. I personally don’t feel comfortable holding it for so long.

If SMCI is delisted, options position can only be exercised if not, expired worthless at my knowledge. (Correct me if I’m wrong). Anyway buying calls at this stage of the game will not help with you put options. Simplest way is sell the puts and close the position before Friday Market closing.
永不止损 : Buyer can exercise the put which means you get to buy it. When delisted, it call dead money. I am closing mine tomorrow if no news.
