$T-Mobile US (TMUS.US)$ shares advanced 3.2% in extended trading after the company's third quarter earnings surged 43%, surpassing analysts estimates on EPS and most of the other financial metrics, including customers net additions.
Earnings climbed to $2.61 per share in the three months that ended Sept. 30. Analysts on average expected the company to report EPS of $2.43, according to Bloomberg estimates. The company's wireless subscribers net additions totaled almost 1.6 million for the quarter, surpassing the 1.46 million net additions expected by analysts.
Revenue rose 4.7% to $20.16 billion, exceeding estimates that called for $20.01 billion.
“Delivering another quarter of industry-leading results, including our best Q3 postpaid phone net adds in a decade and record low Q3 churn, translated into outsized financial results and empowered us to raise our 2024 guidance yet again,” CEO Mike Sievert said in the company's earnings release. “It's an exciting time at T-Mobile as we have so much runway in front of us for profitable, industry-leading growth into the next era of Un-carrier.”
