Taiwan's Hon Hai's fourth quarter revenue hit a record high due to AI demand, surpassing expectations.

Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry (2317.TW), the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, announced on the 5th that its fourth-quarter earnings exceeded market expectations, reaching a record high in revenue, driven by continued strong demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI) servers.
Revenue increased by 15.2% year-on-year to 2.13 trillion Taiwanese dollars (about 64.72 billion US dollars) compared to the same period last year, exceeding the forecast of 2.1 trillion Taiwanese dollars from LSEG Smart Estimate.
Foxconn explained that the revenue of the cloud and network product divisions grew significantly due to strong demand for AI servers, with major customers including the AI semiconductor giant NVIDIA.
The Smart Consumer Electronics division, including the iPhone, showed nearly flat growth compared to the previous year.
Total revenue for the month of December reached 654.8 billion Taiwanese dollars, a 42.3% increase compared to the same month last year, marking the second-highest level for that month in history.
Foxconn explained that the current first quarter of 2025 has gradually entered the traditional off-season for the overall business. Despite achieving record-high profits in the fourth quarter of 2024, the performance in the following first quarter is expected to be at a similar level to the average of the past five years, showing significant growth year-on-year. Specific numbers were not provided.
The company will announce the details of the fourth quarter financial results on March 14th.
